It was my birthday and I wanted to treat my family at a nice restaurant that serves excellent food in Vashi, Navi Mumbai. I did not want to take any chances with the quality of food and ambiance so I consulted a few friends. My friend Ratish recommended Abbott hotel and we finalized it. I am so glad about the choice and thankful to Abbott for making my day special. Here's the review of Abbott Hotel's The Creek Restaurant that I strongly recommend:
On entrance: Me and my husband reached the hotel much before everyone else (after all we were the hosts) and entered the lobby area. The staff at the reception was very polite and so was the man (we presume the owner or a senior manager) who guided us towards the restaurants - The Creek Restaurant and The Cottage Bar. He helped us choose Creek over Cottage citing it was the ideal choice when we are with family. We loved the way he said that The Cottage Bar is a great choice if we are with just friends. He even got the amazing round table we fell in love with at first sight reserved for us immediately! And they politely requested us to occupy the table if we wish to even when we were expecting the family to reach quite a bit later. We however preferred to be at the lovely lobby area for a while.
The menu and the food: Among the six of us there were just two non-vegetarians. We looked at the menu and were surprised to find some zero-oil choices. The bar menu had all those drinks we generally tend to order. They could have however done with the description of the cocktails under the names.
For starters, we had Paneer Lahori Tikka (12 pieces), Veg Crispy Rolls - Dragon (8 pieces) and Sangam Seekh Kabab (super-filling and delectable). In fact, our non-veg junta found the kababs so filling that they preferred to skip the main course and jump to the dessert! For main course, we had Vegetable Dildar and Kadai Sabzi, the former being more sumptuous with the veg cutlet pieces in red and yellow gravy. For dessert, we had our all-time favorite - Sizzling Brownie with Hot Chocolate Sauce. We loved the fact that Abbott does not compromise on the size of the brownie and the amount of chocolate sauce poured on it.
The rates: The rates are moderate. With the above dishes, a breezer, iced tea, 2 large pegs of vodka and a large peg of rum, our bill came to Rs 2800. The rates listed on The Creek's bar menu are for 60 ml.
Service and staff: The service is perfect, not too slow, not too fast. The staff is good and friendly. We were the last ones and were seated past midnight, but they did not push us to place our orders in a haste.
Washrooms: I always believe that if the washrooms of a restaurant / hotel are separate for men and women, clean and with all the necessary amenities, the hotel is good and maintains complete hygiene. I was not disappointed.
The Creek Restaurant Rating: I would give the restaurant nothing less than 4 on 5 and would strongly recommend it!
